A Hug:

It's wondrous what a hug can do,
A hug can cheer you when you're blue.
A hug can say, "I love you so."
Or, "Gee! I hate to see you go."

A hug is, "Welcome back again!"
And, "Great to see you!" or
"Where've you been?"
A hug can soothe a small child's pain,
And bring a rainbow after rain.

The hug! There's just no doubt about it,
We scarcely could survive without it.
A hug delights and warms and charms,
It must be why God gave us arms.

Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers,
And chances are some favorite aunts
Love them more than potted plants.

Kittens crave them, Puppies love them.
Heads of state are not above them.
A hug can break the language barrier,
And make the dullest day seem merrier.

No need to fret about the store of'em.
The more you give,
The more there are of'em.
So stretch those arms without delay
And give someone a hug today.

To Those I Love & Those Who Love Me:

When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time I travelled on alone.

So grieve a while for me if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call me and I will come
Though you can't see me or touch me I'll be near
All of my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone
I'll greet you with a smile and say
"Welcome Home".

Always:

Always remember the good times,
And try to forget the bad.

Always remember the good things,
Do your best to forget all the sad.

Life really is to short,
To just sit and ponder,
Dwelling on the past,
Life is only what you make of it,
So go forward, and make life last.

Whatever you do in your life,
Try to do it as well as you can,
Enjoy what you do,
Be happy in yourself,
And be sure to have a blast!

I Don't Wanna:

I don't wanna do the dishes,
I don't wanna do the wash.
I sprinkled the clothes a week ago,
And now my iron is lost!

I don't wanna rattle pots,
I don't wanna rattle pans.
I saw the email light flashing,
I wanna chat with my friends!

Oh the table needs some dusting,
And the floor could sure be mopped.
But I know if I get started,
There'll be no place to stop.
The closets are so full,
Things are falling off the shelves.
I wish for cleaning fairies,
And magic little elves.

They could sprinkle fairy dust,
And twitch their little nose.
The windows would be sparkling,
I would have no dirty clothes.

Oh I know that I'm just dreaming,
And my head is in the sky.
I must cook that meat that's graying,
And bake that apple pie.

The kid needs a bath,
The dog needs attention.
Oh... the other way around I mean,
My brain is in suspension!

I am running round in circles,
I am getting nothing done.
I keep thinking of my web,
I am missing all the fun!

Well I know I'm not addicted,
Though I hear that all the time.
But I guess the stuff can wait on me,
Cause today I will be online!

Abuse:

I stare into your deep dark eyes.
But I can see nothing, but reflections of hate, in your cold dark stare.
Your anger is pulsing throughout your veins.
Your accusations are mounting in my mind, they echo, and build in intensity.
I cover up my ears, but it's all too much.
My sanity just cannot take it anymore.
You lash out your fury out on my face.
My cheek is stinging, turning shades of black and blue.
My jaw aches in ghastly pain.
I feel the water slipping down from my eyes.
If only I could understand, what I've done, and why you hate me so bad.
If only I knew what was wrong with me.
Why you can't bear to even look at me.
Your anger peaks.
Then total blackness.
I find myself alone, lying on the floor.
The pain is still running through my body, and my soul.
The doorbell chimes in the faint distance, excuses are forming in my mind.
As to why I am torn, black and blue.
No one can I tell, for fear of what would still come.
The cycle has once again just begun.

Oh Women:

An angel of truth and a dream of friction,
A woman is a bundle of contradiction.

She's afraid of a wasp, Will scream at a mouse,
But will tackle her husband alone in the house.

She'll take him for better, She'll take him for worse,
She'll break open his head, and then be his nurse.

But when he's well and can get out of bed,
She'll pick up the tea-pot, and throw it at his head.

Beautiful, keen sighted, and blind,
Crafty and cruel, simple, and kind.

She'll call him a king, and then make him a clown.
Raise him on a pedestal, and then flatten him down.

She inspires him to deeds that ennoble man,
Or make him her lackey to carry her fan.

You fancy she's is that, but she's all that,
She plays like kitten, and bites like cat.

Sour as vinegar, and as sweet as a rose.
Kiss you one minute, then turn up her nose.

She'll win you in range, enchant you in silk.
She is stronger than brandy, milder than milk.

In fact revengeful, merry, and sad.
Hates you like poison, but loves you like mad.

A Dozen Roses:

I got a dozen roses
From a friend the other day;
But I only have 1 left,
For I gave them all away.

I gave one to my sister,
Who to me is very dear,
In hopes that it will bring to her
A little floral cheer.

I took one to a friend
Who's not feeling very well:
The flower or the visit--
Which helped more I could not tell.

One went to a friend
I haven't known for very long
She struggles, so in some small way,
I hope this helps her carry on.

The rest went to the ones
Who've helped me in so many ways;
They have been a cheerful presence
On my dreary days.

The Roses were so pretty
I just could not keep them all
Except one single bud standing
Beautiful and tall.

My friend gave me the flowers
To help brighten up my day,
But the biggest joy I received,
Was giving them away.

Around The Corner:

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell,
And he rang mine.
But, we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tommorow" I say "I will call on Jim"
"Just to show that I'm thinking of him."
But tommorow comes and tommorow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner! - yet miles away,

"Here's a telegram sir"
"Jim died today."
And thats what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide that it is the right time,
It might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.
And most importantly,
Stay close to your friends and family,
For they have helped to
Make you the person that you are today.

Dreaming:

To dream is to fly above all the norm,
Dreaming to seek shelter from all the storm.

To dream is to escape and break away the chains,
Dreaming is to find relief from every ounce of pain.

To dream is to see, hear and feel,
Dreaming is to experience everything that is real.

To dream is release of the everyday stresses that bind,
Dreaming is the key, the power to help you find.

To dream is the warmth that holds me in the night,
Dreaming is my soul mate that makes everything alright.

I Love You!:

You are the one,
In all of my dreams.
Walking together,
Or wading in streams.

Life really blessed me,
When it gave me you.
I always used to think,
That it couldn't be true.

But still here you are,
Right by my side.
Holding my hand,
With every stride.

Walking through life,
Our Love is so true.
And I am so happy,
To spend it with you.

I really Love you with all my heart.

Unconditional Love:

A treasure to be cherished,
A gift from God above;
Is the beauty of a friendship,
Touched by unconditional love.

A love that asks no questions,
Believes in all the best;
Never doubting, ever trusting,
Withstanding any test.

A love that weathers any storm,
And yet that love still stands;
Through the very darkest hour,
It still reaches out a hand.

There in that hand the sweetest gift,
That you can give a friend;
A heart that cares, a love that shares,
That will be there till the end.

A treasure to be cherished,
A gift from God above;
Is what I share with you my friend,
An unconditional love.

The Rose:

Some say love, it is a river,
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor,
That leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking,
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking,
that never takes the chance.

It's the one, who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give.
And the soul afraid of dying,
That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely,
And the road has been too long.
When you feel that love is only,
For the lucky and the strong.

Just remember in the winter,
Far beneath the bitter snow.
Lies the seed that with the sun's love,
In the spring becomes the rose.

These are part of the lyrics to the Bette Midler song titled The Rose.
